If only I were rich…. And short…

I was just looking at boots for my next post and found these, not along the lines I was going, but they are just so sexy I had to mention them.  Only issue is, I’m already very tall, I have no occasion to wear them and I don’t have £160 lying around… But some of you might, so here they are…  My dream boots…

These Miista Elastic Black Boots can be bought from Topshop or Urban Outfitters. (Click the links to go directly to the purchase button).

While I’m perving away and drooling over shoes, here are a couple of other beauties which I’m lusting after…

Lucite glitter platform sandals – Topshop – £80.00

Android Panel Ankle boots – Topshop – £80.00

I have also fallen in love with this pair from Deena & Ozzy at Urban Outfitters, I love the T-bar and cross-over style of the straps as well as the massive block heel and platform.  Real suede and leather for only £95.00 – surely that’s a bargain?

And last, but by no means least – in fact possibly my fave of all – Office Wind up wedge – Office  – £60.00

EXCITING NEWS – These wedges are available in purple and red for half price – just £30.00 – get them soon before they all go!!

They look even better on – See below where I’m modeling my housemate’s pair that she’s just bought…

So, if anyone wants to buy me any of these, I won’t be angry!

Top 5: Trends for SS11: Midi Skirts

Midi skirts were all over the runway this season, with the mini skirt being pushed aside in favour of a more ladylike length. The celebrities have caught on to the trend, both on the red carpet and for casual wear, with full skirts and fitted.

Alexa Chung :: Miranda Kerr :: Kirsten Dunst :: Gemma Arterton

Something to be wary of with this look is that it can shorten the legs, so if you’re petite stick with a block colour (like Gemma Arterton above) rather than breaking it up. Here are a few of my favourite mid-calf skirts and dresses so you can recreate the look yourselves, but at a high street price.

1. Calf Length Midi Skirt – £45.00 – ASOS.com

This full girly skirt also comes in black, for those less daring. It’s ideal for shorter legs as it isn’t as long as most skirts, but is still below the knee and therefore keeping the ladylike appearance.

2. Midi Dresses – £46.00 – Topshop

This cute dress comes in Peach Morris Print and a wrap around style in Blue Chambray. It’s gorgeous for a garden party, BBQ or summertime date. Team it with a simple cream cardigan and some tan sandals to complete the look.

3. Ponti-Roma Tailored Pencil Dress – £40.00 – ASOS.com

This fitted dress is designed in the style of Victoria Beckham and comes in a wide range of colours, some are in the sale for £32.00 – so go have a look! This classy yet sexy dress is long, but has a low cut cleavage, so you can show off your assets. Style with a pair of killer heels for a dinner date or a special day at the office.

4. One-of-a-Kind Equation Sparkle Dress £75.00 £50.00 – Urban Outfitters

With a high neck, but open back and a shimmer to the fabric, this dress is bound to turn heads. The length is perfect for ladies who like to show off their slender calfs and the cute bow detail on the back adds a little something extra. I would wear this dress with bare legs and sky-high nude/beige heels. It also looks great with tights as the model wears it, but the all in one black look doesn’t give off a very spring/summer vibe.

5. Pleated Calf Length Skirt – £38.00 – Topshop

In a variety of colours, there is a choice for everyone with this skirt. I like that the bottom half is sheer, so you can still show off your legs while staying on trend. The pleating is also very delicate and ladylike. Team it with a simple white vest top and some chunky bangles or a long necklace. Or for a more formal look, tuck in an oversized white shirt… Try to keep it simple so as not the make the pleats look fussy and overdone.

Top 5: Trends for SS11: Leather

A good leather jacket will never go out of fashion, but the leather trend is branching away from just jackets this season. As the runways and celebs have shown…

Emma Watson :: Jessica Alba :: Whitney Port :: Kristen Bell

Following up from my post about the wardrobe must haves for Spring/Summer 2011, here are the hottest leather looks for the season and how to wear them…

1. Black Chiffon Leather Front Tee – £45 – Topshop.

I love that this top is simple, but with the leather it has some edge and shine. It will look perfect with camel skinnies and ankle boots, or dress it up for a night out with a mini skirt, chunky bangles and sky-high heels.

2. One Teaspoon Studded Leather Jacket – £190 – Asos.com

This jacket is half price at the moment on Asos.com, and how can you resist a real leather bargain like this? I love the studded detail, it adds a tougher feel without looking tacky. The cropped jacket is also in again this season, so it will go with everything. I love leather jackets to toughen up floral girly dresses with boots, or with skinny jeans and vest tops to vamp up a simple day look.

3. Jersey Hooded Biker Gilet – £24.99 – New Look

Black (Black) Jersey Hooded Biker Gilet | 210459901 | New Look

This leather-look gilet/vest is perfect for those looking for the leather look on a budget. Gilet’s are everywhere for the transition from Winter to Spring and this one is comfy and casual while still keeping a biker edge. It looks cute as the model wears it with a jumper and jeans, or it could look cute with a light floral dress, black tights and chunky boots.

4. Renewal Re-made Leather Skirt – £45 – Urban Outfitters.

I love the structuring of this skirt, it’s a simple shape but the V in the front adds character and the pockets are cute. Each item from the Urban Renewal collection is made up of carefully selected items from around the world that bring the past to the present. I love the way the model wears it, with a simple white tee and black tights, this could work with a part of killer heels for a night out, or with a comfy cardigan and boots for a day look. Also try contrasting the tough leather with a light chiffon top.

5. Bomber Faux Leather Jacket – £21.50 – Forever 21

I love this jacket, it’s simple and easy to wear, plus it won’t break the bank! I also love the way it’s been styled on the model, with the soft nude skirt contrasting the tough black leather. Forever 21 is fast becoming one of my favourite online stores, it’s such great value and they have some really nice items! Check out my top 5 Forever 21 items here.

New kicks on the block

The hottest new trend as far as shoes and heels go this season it’s the blockier the better! Take a look below at which designers and celebrities are also loving the trend, as well as my top 5 block heels from the high street…

Fendi :: Marni :: Balenciaga :: Miu Miu

With several designers creating block heels, of course it has led to celebs wearing them as well. My personal favourites are all of the Miu Miu collection, as seen above and on Pixie Lott below. The simple mary-jane shapes, but beautiful statement prints make them stand out from the crowd.

Fearne Cotton :: Tavi Gevinson :: Pixie Lott

1. Layla Block Heel Shoes – £65.00 – Topshop

LAYLA Block Heel Shoes

These heels are part of the reason I started this post. My friend Holly Bidwell tweeted them and I fell in love! (Take a look at Holly’s blog). The thick block heel and high platform will elongate legs but also provide a chunky, tough look to a cute dress. Or could add some extra edge to an LBD.

2. Ames suede ankle boots – £70.00 – ASOS.com

Available in black and taupe, these boots are versatile for both evening and day wear. I love the way the chunkiness of the heels contrast the slim legs of the model. They would look amazing with either shorts or a mini skirt for a night out, or with leggings and chunky socks/legwarmers for a day look.

3. Peep-toe platform heels – £45.00 – Asos.com

Image 1 of ASOS PARTYTIME Peep Toe Platform ShoesWith a chunky stacked heel, these shoes are less blocky, for those who want to stay with the trend, but perhaps don’t like the really chunky heeled look. I love the simplicity of these heels and the suede effect and peep toe makes them sexy for an evening look.

4. Wood heel boot – £85.00 – Urban Outfitters.

“Give yourself a lift with these wooden-heeled platform boots with supersoft suede upper.” – Urban Outfitters. Available in tan and black, the platform makes a statement and adds height to short legs.

5. Beauty & the Beast£60.00 £30.00 – Office.

These chunky platforms are so nineties, but I sort of love that about them. You could wear them like Tavi Gevinson (above) with printed tights or socks for a day look, or team them with a super short skirt or dress for an evening look.

Take a bow

Bow-front blouses are everywhere this season! They have been featured all over the runways and have also been sported by several celebs. When it comes to day wear, the draped bow is a must, they look great for the office or with jeans for a smart casual look… Here are my top 5 high street looks…

Jason Wu :: Erin Featherston :: Thakoo :: Proenza Schouler

Gemma Arterton :: Rachel Zoe :: Olivia Palermo :: Claudia Schiffer

1. Satin Pussybow Blouse – £22.99 – New Look

This satin, but floaty blouse has 3/4 length sleeves and buttons up the front underneath the bow. The soft cream colour will go with everything and this blouse will look stunning tucked into a pair of high waisted jeans or shorts.

2. Closet Pussybow Blouse – £28.00 – Dorothy Perkins

These blouses are beautiful colours and stand out against the majority of cream and white blouses in the shops. They have little ruffled details on the shoulders and gathered sleeves to add a little something extra to the design. This sheer blouse is available in ocean blue and deep pink and can be worn during the day with a camisole underneath or with just a sexy bra for a daring evening look. It’s also available in nude chiffon for £30.00

3. Pins & Needles Lace Bib Chiffon Blouse – £38.00 – Urban Outfitters.

Featuring a ruffle trim button placket bib front, puff sleeves and bow tie at the neck this blouse looks adorable either tucked-in or untucked with jeans. The deep red is lovely and the cream will go with everything! When worn with a blazer it could create a smart look for winter, or just with a camisole underneath for a summery look.

4. South Pussybow Blouse – £29.00 – Very.co.uk

This blouse comes in a statement black and a pale camel colour, It’s less transparent than others (especially the black option), so there is less need for a top underneath.

5. Pussybow Short Sleeve Blouse – £26.00 – ASOS.com

I think this one is my personal favourite, with a wide range of colours, a low draped neckline and short sleeves, this blouse is perfect for the office. The cream option could also be teamed with a cardigan, full mini-skirt and black tights for a cute day look.

Endless Style

Endless (or eternity) scarves are all over the place at the moment, and are the perfect compliment to any outfit to add a touch of cosiness! Especially with all the snow the UK’s getting! If they’re good enough for Jessica Alba and Blake Lively, then they’re good enough for us girlies!

Jessica Szohr :: Blake Lively :: Jessica Alba :: Zoe Saldana

1. Cowel Scarf – £19.50 – GAP

This snug, thick scarf is perfect for trips out in the snow and the range of colours offers a wide choice. I love the rich ‘constellation blue’ colour and am putting it high on my Christmas list!!

The beauty of these scarfs is that they can be worn loose around the neck, or wrapped around tighter for extra warmth.

2. Staring At Stars Lurex Eternity Scarf – £20.00 – Urban Outfitters

This scarf can be worn in a multitude of ways and is very versatile. Slightly thinner material than other scarfs, this one is more to make a statement than to keep you warm. With a hint of metallic in the scarf there is a little shimmer to the fabric. It can be worn as a loop around the neck (left), or can be worn folded and then as a normal draped scarf (right). Also the fact that Anna Brewster (left) one of my favourites, is modelling it makes me love it even more!

3. Tapestry Floral Snood – £12.00 – Topshop

I love the prints on these scarves, with either a feminine pink design, or a more earthy brown option. I love the colours in the pink design and would wear it with everything! They look so cosy, and so cheap!!!

4. Large Ribbed Snood – £12.99 – New Look

This thick knit burgundy snood is a gorgeous colour (and very in this season). The ribbed fabric makes it stand out from other similar designs in the shops, plus it’s a bargain!

5. Snoods – £14.99 – River Island

I love the designs on some of these snoods. The little white and black hearts are adorable (bottom right) and the leopard print is in keeping with this seasons trends (top middle), so you can fit two trends into one garment! Also the navy and grey options will look fab with all outfits, and the red really makes a statement. Definitely one for the Christmas list, if not just a treat for yourself.
