With Spring coming up, push all the black to the back of the wardrobe and bring the crisp and pure white items to the front. White is great for showing off and accentuating a tan in the summer months, so get that gradual fake tan building up for when it’s warm enough to ditch the tights and bare all!

Not only can you look amazing in your LWD (little white dress) but guys love it too! Glamour.com recently reported 17 Outfit ideas guys love on you and the LWD was number 6.
“There’s something about a tan woman radiating her angelic beauty in an all-white dress—and it’s courageous, especially if she’s drinking red wine!”
—Jordan, 24
This season it’s all about crisp lines and stiffer fabrics, so ease up on the floaty floaty dresses, and go for something with a little more structure. Below are my top 5 favourite LWD’s…
1. Cut Out Shift Dress – £30.00 – ASOS.com
To say I am in love with this dress would be putting it mildly! It’s subtley sexy, showing leg and with the cut outs, but with a high neck, so it doesn’t look trashy. I am currently putting the ‘berry’ coloured one into my shopping basket. (Obviously I’m not brave enough to go for all white just yet).
2. White Heart Embroidered Dress – £28.00 – Topshop.
This little white smock dress is adorable, it will look great with black tights or bare legs. It’s a flattering length, showing off legs without being too short and the embroidery adds a lovely texture to the front. Accessorise it with a thin tan waist belt and a long necklace.
3. White Belted Flared Dress – £45.00 – Dorothy Perkins
With 20% off all online purchases for a limited time (when you spend over £50) go get this dress quick! It’s cute and flirty, the little belt breaks up the white and adds a hint of colour. The high neck and structured bust are flattering and the skirt is a perfect length for either daytime or dressed up for evening wear. Swap the belt for a thin black one and pair with black tights and heeled ankle boots, or go for bare legs and a daring coloured heel.
4. 60s Style Abstract Shift Dress – £35.00 – ASOS.com
I love the geometric details in this dress, it adds texture and dimension while keeping it looking simple. I also love the square neckline and back. It’s short, but not too short with black tights for a daytime look. Wear with block heels to complete the 60s look.
5. Linen Blend Shift Dress – £30.00 – Next.
I don’t normally look in Next for clothes, but you have no idea how tricky it is to find plain white dresses online! Everything is cream or nude. Anyway, I really like this dress, it’s simple with a little extra. The high-necked shift dress is very in this season, it’s all about showing off legs instead of cleavage. I love the little lace window above the bust, it gives away a little, without being overly revealing. When available in petite, tall and plus sizes, it will work for everyone! This is very much a team with sandals and bare legs for a BBQ or lunch date kind of dress, but could be worn with some statement strappy heels and a blazer for an evening meal.
Take a look at some more LWDs here. Winter’s lacey trend has been bought through to spring/summer with a new twist.
